AG Ice Hockey Puts Some Muscle into Fundraising

The Avon Grove Ice Hockey Team put some muscle behind their promise as they met to mulch and plant flowers at the home of Paul and Lisa Sharr on May 3rd.  The Sharr’s were the winning bidders of the AG Ice Hockey basket at the Avon Grove Sports Boosters Auction.  The “basket” included the AG team to spend the morning planting perennials and spreading mulch at the winning bidders home.  The perennials were graciously donated by Northcreek Nursery.  The JV and Varsity teams were well represented, as 17 players spent their morning at the Sharr’s home.  Lisa Sharr commented, “We were really pleased with the mulching job and enjoyed the team’s camaraderie while they worked.  They really seem like a great group of guys.  What a terrific idea for a fundraiser!” She was impressed that a team was actually willing to work to raise money and hoped that it would start a trend with other teams.  The Avon Grove Ice Hockey teams enjoyed great success this year on the ice, but their willingness to spend a Spring morning fundraising for the Boosters Club, makes them real winners.
